Container Freight Station - Boxnfreight

A Container Freight Station (CFS) is a maritime facility where containers are transshipped between different transport modes, usually ships, rail and trucks. Container rail services are most commonly used to transport containerised cargo overland and rail also has the highest rate of growth of all transport modes. The major container ports are located at busy seaports and are owned and operated by the shipping lines and terminals or are privately owned. A CFS is involved in the import-export business at the points of origin and destination. Container freight stations are, thus, categorised as “origin CFS” and “destination CFS”.
